Colchester

Welcome to ColchesterColchester is the third largest community in Vermont with over 17000 residents, home to Malletts Bay, the “Crown Jewel” of Lake Champlain and is only minutes north of Burlington, a cosmopolitan and collegiate center for the Champlain Valley region.

To the east, the fertile slopes of the Green Mountains summon to hikers, hunters, skiers and nature lovers. Positioned along the Interstate 89 corridor and only minutes from the Burlington International Airport, rail and bus stations, Colchester offers convenient transportation links.

Colchester boasts more lake frontage than any city or town surrounding Lake Champlain, the 6th largest fresh water lake in the US and a world renowned bass fishery.

With five marinas, two fishing and boating accesses and a dozen parks (five with lake access) there is no community on the lake that can offer the quantity, quality and diversity of lake access that is available in Colchester.

Colchester is home to several important businesses and organizations including Saint Michael’s College, Vermont Public Radio and the Vermont Youth Orchestra, not to mention COSTCO, the new Albany College of Pharmacy, several hotels and even one of the last drive-in movie theaters in the state.
